Mrs. Blair's class celebrated Read Across America by inviting parents in to read with their child. It was a huge success! Parents even experienced reading in the dark with flashlights just like we do on Fridays.

Our class loved listening to the story and learning about the traditions and meaning behind the celebration. Experiences like this help our students learn about and appreciate the many cultures and celebrations within our school community.

Ms. Healey's class's guest reader for Read Across America was Dr. Ellis! She read The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle! A full circle moment, as Dr. Ellis was Ms. Healey's English teacher once upon a time. Ms. Healey told her students that maybe one day they would grow up to be a teacher in North Brunswick and she could come back to be a guest reader in their class...if she's lucky!
